About Our Team

Melissa Lindsey

Melissa is a California native, now living in St. Louis, MO, who learned she was conceived with donor sperm at age 40. When she looked for support, she couldn’t find any. So, she formed a peer-support group in 2020, which eventually grew into Donor Conceived Community (DCC).

Before founding DCC, she spent 20 years working in sales & marketing, corporate training, program development, community outreach, and mental health education. Melissa’s leadership style centers collaboration, empathy and creative solutions.

Max Tang

Max Tang (any pronouns) is the Community Director of DCC and a clinical Master’s of Social Work student ('24). Max facilitates peer support groups for multiracial and LGBTQ+ donor-conceived adults; develops resources for DCP, parents, and donors; and co-leads DCC Professional Group. Max's passion for multicultural, intersectional mental health support was born from her experiences as an LGBTQ+, Chinese American DCP. Max learned before middle school that she was conceived with eggs from an anonymous white donor, with whom she has since built a positive relationship.

As an intern at a virtual therapy practice in Massachusetts, Max also supports BIPOC and LGBTQ+ therapy clients and support group members who are navigating infertility, donor conception, or pregnancy and parenting after loss.
